Of course I'm not talking about that kind of "green".
Taking the first step towards going green and caring for the environment are retail stores Ensembles, Freeway, Solo, and 22BC, who have decided to use Oxy-biodegradable plastic bags.
These bags are a different kind of plastic bag. Thay have a much faster decay rate, taking only a few months, unlike ordinary plastic bags that take a hundred years to decay, if not take forever.
The catch though (there always is one, isn't there?) is that the material needs to be exposed to high temperatures and oxygen to fully disintegrate.
At least they're starting to build awareness and not continue to be apathetic to the environment's demise.
